> Bible Studies > Will God answer my prayers
During the term of our lives on this earth, we present many
requests to God through our Prayers. We do this with full
authority granted to us by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, “Pray
to your Father…” Matthew 6:6, “This,
then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed
be your name…” Matthew 6:9. However, there are
times we also ask – will God answer our prayers? How
are we assured that we will be answered?
As we have noted above, we are confident in praying, since
we have been given full authority as sons and daughters of
God, through His beloved son Jesus Christ, “…But
as many as received him (Jesus), to them He gave power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His
name…” John 1:12. We have also been granted
authority to pray in His Holy name, “You may ask me
for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:14, “…my
Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” John
16:23.
Being given such authority, we are also assured by the bible
that our prayers will be answered according to the will of
God, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven…”Matthew 6:10.
“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John
16:24
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that
works in us…” Ephesians 3:20
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall
find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one
that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that
knocks it shall be opened…” Matthew 7:7, 8.
Above are a number of many verses within the bible, which
give us assurance of answered prayers. It will be worthwhile
to read your bible, and discover many more verses. Once you
have found them, say a prayer and ask God for His righteousness
and kingdom, “…But seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.” Matthew 6:33.
