Youth Group Walk-a-thon
24 Sep 2006

Through the commitment and passion of Youth Group, this year
the goal of Youth Group was to expand and reach out other
communities and charitable or non-profit organizations. More
130 sons and daughters of the Assyrian Church of the East
Walked 10km from St. Hurmizd Cathedral, Greenfield Park to
St. Mary’s Church, Fairfield on 24th September 2006
for two major causes:
1. To raise funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation
– children who are living with a serious illness or
injury which can cause them enormous strain in the lives and
lives of their families as well. Youth Group’s Walk-a-thon
aim was to brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised
children and their families, throughout Australia.
2. The other funds will go toward the infrastructure of Mar
Narsai Assyrian College which will be completed in the near
future. It is believed that Mar Narsai College will be the
first Assyrian College that will teach the culture, history
and tradition of the Assyrian nation and its beloved church,
including the Australian culture.

The Youth Group meets every Sunday from
6.30pm at St. Mary's Church, 94 Polding Street, Fairfield.
