Under the leadership of Rabbi Shora Mikhailian,
the world renowned Assyrian musician worldwide, the Church
Music Class was established at the request of the Bishop.
The main purpose and aim of the Class is for the expansion
of talents of the Church's sons and daughters.
Rabbi Shora has been conducting tutorials
in a wide range of musical instruments. To date, the Church
has expended in excess of $5000.00 towards the purchase
of musical instruments and instruction books.
The students have attained the level of
performing in Church and community activities. It is
pleasing to inform that, Rabbi Shora and his students,
have on many occasions, been officially invited to perform
in the following activities.
* Fairfield City Council (Australia Day,
Christmas Celebrations and Mayor's Charity Ball)
* Annual Greek Festival.
The Church anticipates, that it will produce
a group of qualified and experienced students who will
at one point or another, participate and partake at a national
level, displaying their skills and musical efficiency.
Undoubtedly, this will be a great source of pride to all
Assyrians both nationally, and internationally.
This is one of many programs, which the Church
has instigated, in the hope that it will produce great
musical talents, and demonstrate the fruit of the Church
and the Assyrian nation at large. |
