Theology > Bible Studies > Relating God to Jesus

Many people - including Christians - today, have difficulties in believing, accepting and trusting the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to be the true Almighty God. They simply refer to verses from the bible which claim Jesus saying words like “My God, My God” Matthew 26:46, “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit” Luke 23:46 and many other instances where one can only learn that Jesus is conversing with a second person.

Many arguments have elevated in regards to the Deity of Jesus, in particular the equivalence and relationship of the Father and the Son. If we attempt to argue these significant issues without referring to the Holy Bible, we will most certainly be incapable of determining the strict and crucial confirmation of this issue. Conversely, utilizing the Holy Bible will confirm that God the Father, guided His chosen prophets to establish and reveal definite comparison with God the Son, by the power of God the Spirit.

You may now be thinking:
1 (God the Farther) + 1 (God the Son) + 1 (God the Spirit) = 3 Gods

However:
1 (God the Farther) x 1 (God the Son) x 1 (God the Spirit) = 1 Almighty God

Key Factor:
Jesus = Perfect Man and Perfect God.

As St. Paul writes “…There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live, and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live” 1 Corinthians 8:6. By this we learn that Jesus Christ is also the absolute power and wisdom of God. To be further enlightened on the divine perfection of Jesus Christ, examining titles of God in the Old Testament, in order to confidently proclaim the equality of Jesus with God.
