Ss Peter and Paul Parish purchase land for future Church premises

Embarking on a new chapter in the important history of the young Ss. Peter and Paul Parish of the Assyrian Church of the East in Sydney, Rev. Genard Lazar, Parish Priest, announced to the congregation on Sunday 21st of September 2008 that via the Church Building Fund of the Assyrian Church of the East in Australia, the Parish has successfully purchased a plot of land located at Cecil Park on which the future construction of a Church for this visionary parish will be constructed. The ownership of personal premises is essential to the life of the Parish and alleviates many of the obstacles faced by it.

The future construction of a Church for this Parish will allow for it to conduct its ministries with regularity and consistency and will not leave the Parish and its members reliant on the use of other facilities within the Church. Furthermore the Parish's own members and others who partake in its ministries will experience a strong personal connection to the Church. It has been through the diligence and dedication of its members and supporters that this Parish has grown and advanced its ministries since its inception.

The Parish is encouraged by His Grace Bishop Mar Meelis Zaia AM for her establishment and his longstanding support towards the purchase of this plot of land. Members of the Assyrian Church of the East in Sydney more broadly have also contributed to the life of the Parish financially and enthusiastically since its founding and this support has been and is dearly appreciated.

It is only through the support of the sons and daughters of our most Holy Church, that this Church will be built and that it will go from strength to strength in proclaiming the Good News of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
